Hunt Story
So we have been hunting this deer since bow season. He has always been at another area when we thought we had him patterned. On Monday evening prior to, he came in within 100 yards and she had two shots on him but missed. Buck fever got her. She was distraught to say the least, and so was her daddy. Almost a week went past and the buck was showing back up on camera on the farm again but not in the same area. She didn’t care, it was chilly that Saturday morning and she wanted to shoot the shooting box that morning no matter what because she can stay warmer there than the other ladder stands and tripods we hunt. So we got in extra early and thought we would see deer all morning. That didn’t happen. We didn’t see a deer until he stepped out right in front of us at 9 a.m. He was facing away from us and she didn’t rush the shot at all she waited, which felt like an eternity until her turned broadside and she made a perfect shot. We both jumped for joy and hugged and I lost it with my emotions. My daughter just killed a monster buck for her first deer. It will be a memory I will never forget.
