Hunt Story

My dad and I went to church Sunday morning with our family and after lunch, he asked me if I wanted to go hunting. We got in our blind about 4:15. We said a prayer when we got settled like we always do. About 5:30 my dad tapped me on the shoulder and said there’s a deer. He came straight to our corn pile and started eating, but where he stopped there was a big tree right behind his shoulder and I couldn’t shoot. We had to wait about five minutes and finally he walked past the tree, but he turned facing dead away from us and I still could not shoot. We had to wait several more minutes and I was just staring at him and his antlers through the scope. While we were waiting, I told my dad to look at my hand and it was shaking like crazy. He told me to take deep breaths and stay calm. He finally turned broadside and my dad told me I could shoot. I took the shot and he dropped in his tracks. I thank God that he let that deer come in and that I got to kill it with my dad.
