Hunt Story

Hunted all weekend long. Saturday morning was hunting in oaks, had this deer within 25 yards but in a thicket and all I could ever see was antlers and one time a little neck. Waited for him to come out the side, but he turned and left. Saw him, two spikes, and a 4-pointer in 10 minutes looking for does. Didn’t see any other deer rest of the day. Went back to oaks again Sunday morning and at 7:15 had a buck shot across a small opening, nose on the ground looking for a doe. Went to lunch came back and decided to hunt a food plot in hope of having more time to get a shot. Got into the stand about 1:30 pm. Put out some tinks 69 doe in heat and also set out a couple of tinks doe in rut smoke stinks and lit them. Had turkeys come through and a couple squirrels. I was in a box stand and heard some running. I started looking everywhere for deer. Finally saw him in the woods running a doe. As he got close to the scent and smoke stink he stopped and started smelling. The only shot I had was a small opening where his neck was. Took the shot in his neck and dropped in in his tracks with my browning Abolt medallion .270 using Remington 150 grain round nose soft points. Love the gun and ammo. Drops them every time.
