Hunt Story

This hunt was a special hunt for my wife and I. Since the beginning of bow season we've been hunting hard together with her running the camera in hopes of us getting a buck kill on camera. And on this particular morning everything just felt right, all the variables were lining up perfectly and we just had a good feeling going into the hunt. Within the first 5 minutes of daylight we already had a hog come out. As I was turning to get my bow off the hanger the hog spooked and took off. Hoping it would come back for a bite of breakfast I stood there patiently waiting with my Matthew's bow in hand. After a few minutes of no action, I was just about to hang my bow back up and I noticed movement on the field edge roughly 200 yards away. I immediately told my wife to be still and that a deer was walking towards us. Sure enough this buck walked directly to us and ended up giving me a perfect 33 yard "quartering away" shot. Made the shot and immediately knew he was hit good, had a complete pass through with the rage 2 blade broadhead and he ran roughly 75 yards before crashing. After hearing him crash and quietly celebrating with my wife, I asked if she was able to record it and unfortunately with everything happening so fast she didn't even have time to get the camera out. All in all, it was the best 30 minute hunt ever! Shout out to my Uncle Wayne for coming and helping us get the deer out and loaded up!
