Lake Russell Fishing Report – September 2024

GON Staff | August 28, 2024

Russell: Level: 0.8 feet below 475. Temp: Low 80s. Clarity: Slight stain.

Bass: Tournament angler Kerry Partain reports, “The bass fishing has gotten tough the last few weeks, and the water looks stained in a lot of areas due to all the wind we have been having. With the cooler temperatures, the bass should start biting better in the daytime, especially when they are generating. As we head into September, the water should continue to cool off, and the fishing changes often because the baitfish will begin to scatter out in the creeks. The shallow fish will begin to hit buzzbaits and crankbaits, and the deeper fish can be caught on finesse baits.”
