Lake Seminole Fishing Report – August 2024

GON Staff | August 9, 2024

Seminole: Level: 0.4 feet below 77.5. Temp: 85-90 degrees. Clarity: The Flint and Chattahoochee river arms are slightly stained, and Spring Creek is clear.

Bass: Guide Paul Tyre, with Lake Seminole Fishing Adventures, reports, “The bass fishing on Lake Seminole for July has been very good. The topwater action has been exciting, and we expect it to continue through August, especially early and late in the day.

“Walking baits, like the 6th Sense CatWalk, have been productive fished over submerged hydrilla.

“The frog bite has been explosive and will continue into the fall. Fish the frog over the thicker grass, especially paying attention to any holes in the grassbeds. One of my favorite frogs for doing this is a Spro Bronzeye Pop. When fishing the frog, you need a rod that has enough backbone to get a big bass out of the grass.  My go-to rod is a 7-3, heavy-action 6th Sense Vega Frog Rod. This rod has a soft tip and enough backbone to get Lake Seminole’s biggest bass out of the grass.”
