Hunt Story
Hunted him 5 mornings straight and had 4 encounters from 18-30 yards. I was looking to get my first buck with a recurve, so although he was within range a few times, I just couldn’t connect. The morning I took him, at 7:30 a.m. I looked to the right of my tree I was standing and facing, and he was approaching about 12 yards. I couldn’t move as he was nearly under me and as he walked past I reached for my Hoyt Satori and slowly turned my body. He offered a hard quarter-away 15-yard shot and I was able to get the shot off. He ran about 200 yards before expiring.
