Monday November 6th I went to glass a hay field near the house after work. This field has always been a staging area. I saw numerous Does and watched a 6-point and 8-point chasing them. After sunset I watched the two bucks circle each other and start fighting. With the time change I knew I would have to pack all my hunting gear in my truck and go straight to the field to hunt after work. On the 7th I drove straight to the field after work and settled into a windrow overlooking the field. I watched Does come out and begin to feed. About 20 minutes after sitting down I saw the Does scatter. I scanned the field with my binoculars and saw the 10-pointer hot on a doe that was headed straight for the wind row I was sitting in. They stopped about a hundred yards from me. I took aim with my .243 and fired. The buck dropped right where he was standing. He is my personal best and was took with my late Grandpa’s hunting rifle.
