Hunt Story

As I arrived to my stand location I spotted a doe a 2 fawns. They eventually saw me and eased away and I eased on into my stand. After about an hour I had a spike cruise through. Shortly after that I had 2 does and 3 fawns come in and feed on acorns. After roughly 10 minutes they got a little nervous acting and eased off. Before they got out of site my buck appeared. I got so nervous I was worried I was not going to be able to hold it steady on him. After a few minutes, he presented me with a good broadside shot. I was finally able to control my nerves and make the shot. He ran and I was worried I missed. I could hear the leaves and branches as he ran off but the noise suddenly stopped. I texted my husband and told him what happened. He instructed me to stand in the stand but he stated too that since noise stopped suddenly he thought buck had fallen dead. After about 20 minutes my husband said I could get down and I found my buck roughly 40 yards from where I shot him at.
