Hunt Story

I was hunting this really old 9-pointer that lived down in the creek bottom, and my dad and I had been watching him all summer and I had actually seen him one time in person but couldn't get a shot on him. After that hunt, I decided to hunt him a lot after seeing how big he was. I went back to hunt down there after giving it a break for a day, and the day I went it was beautiful, there were clear skies, it was in the mid to low seventies and a perfect wind. The hunt started off a little slow just seeing a couple yearlings, and a little 8-point. Those deer eventually walked off and then around 7:30-7:45 I heard something big coming through the brush to my left, I picked up my binoculars to see what it was and when I looked over. there. with my binos I saw his huge neck and realized it was him. When I realized it was him I quickly picked up my bow while he was behind some brush, he then started to walk towards me and stopped perfect broadside with his head up about 15 yards away. When I shot him, I knew I made a good shot, and when I climbed down from the stand I looked at the arrow and saw there was good blood on it. And when I went look for him the blood trail was really good and he only went about 25 yards. After I found him I called my dad to tell him I got him and how nervous I got, then came and helped me load him up in the truck.
