Hunt Story
Avery slipped into a tower stand that overlooks two roads bordering a thick cutover around 5:00 p.m. At 6:30 he saw a young buck exit the cutover and make a scrape. At 6:55 he saw a big buck exit the cutover and enter one of the roads he was watching. He was able to steady his .270 rifle and make a perfect shot. The buck quickly dashed back into the cutover and Robbie Rowe was called in to bring his dog, Mel, to assist with tracking. Within minutes Mel had located the buck a couple hundred yards into the cutover.
