Hunt Story

I got in the stand around 4:40 p.m. There were two does in the food plot as I was entering my stand. The does continued to feed in food plot. A few more does came out along with a young 8-point buck. The deer were grazing around the food plot. About 5:00 p.m. another smaller buck came into the food plot and made his way to the feeder. This buck's rack was broken up to the point that one side was broken completely off and the other side had just the main beam left. At about 5:40 p.m. the buck I harvested walked onto the food plot. I knew this deer from trail-camera photographs, and I had seen this buck the previous week but did not have a good shot. The buck walked across the food plot and stopped just short of the edge of the plot. I took aim and fired my rifle. The buck ran approximately 25 yards and crashed in a set of planted pines.
