Hunt Story

Well, just when I thought I had killed a buck of a lifetime, exactly one week later after shooting a 9-point buck, I kill a once in a lifetime record 8-point buck. My 12-year-old son wanted to hunt on another tract of land that we have been given permission to hunt. I told him we needed to check the trail camera to see if we had a shooter buck in the area. On Wednesday night, we checked our camera only to find what seemed to be a deer from another state! This wasn't your typical Georgia 8-pointer we spotted on our camera. We had already been seeing a lot of doe in the area, and saw a lot on the trail camera as well. I knew that the 8-pointer would hold up in the head of woods we were hunting with all of the doe activity. Friday morning, my son and I headed to this tract. I took him to his stand, and then I got in mine about 75 yards away from him. After just 2 days of hunting for this deer, he presented himself to me at 8:45 a.m. tending a doe. Knowing that was the deer in the camera, I immediately took the first kill shot presented. I dropped him right on the spot. I gathered my gear, got down from my stand, and headed to look at the monster I had just shot. Wow! Once again, overwhelmed with joy and excitement, I had to stop and give praise to God and his son Jesus Christ! Amen!
