Hunt Story

I actually wasn't planning on going deer hunting, but my dad convinced me that I had nothing better to do and that the rut was still on, so we went and got in the stand late at about 4:40 p.m. with maybe one hour left to hunt. I was sitting on a small cut field without any source of food except for the grass that grew there naturally. I had my grunt and I was blowing it on and off to see if something came in to check it out. The sun sets at 5:30 and it was 5:15. I was glancing down at my feet at the bottom of the stand regretting my decision to come and hunt until I glanced up to the top of the field and saw a massive rack moving through the grass. Once I saw him he turned toward me from about 120 yards and began walking down toward me at an angle. He glanced up and looked at me, and when he put his head back down and kept moving, I put my gun on the rest of the stand and waited for my opportunity. Once he stopped and picked his head back up, I put my sight on his front right shoulder. Once I shot he ran at an angle about 15 feet into the woods, and I heard him fall. I climbed down from the stand and began to look for signs of blood where he was standing. I found him about 15 yards into the woods. It was the biggest buck I have ever seen hunting and a buck of a lifetime.
